Schnalstal/Valley Val Senales - through the valley Pfossental to the farmsteads Eishöfe

Bild Bild

At a glance: The valley Pfossental, a side valley of the valley Schnalstal, leads into the high mountain regions of the nature reserve Texel group. It's one of South Tyrol's most unspoiled and beautiful high alpine valleys and can easily be walked from Vorderkaser to the farmsteads Eishöfe. The walk can also be extended up to the Eisjoch pass. In the morning observant walkers should see chamois, deer and mountain ibex. Rest stop possible at the Eishof or at the Rableitalm.

Best time: summer and autumn. Best months are July and September.

Rewards: after the initial ascent you reach a peaceful wide-open high-mountain valley.

Effort: an alpine walk with little difference in altitude of about 400 m. Walking time there and back about 3 hours

Starting point: Vorderkaser in the valley Pfossental (1676 m), reachable by car, there you find also a parking area.
